Alex Jacobs is the CEO of the British Acupuncture Council and previously the president of the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine. He is also a practitioner of Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Tuina Massage and a teacher of dietary therapy and qigong in West Hampstead, London, UK.
He became interested in Chinese medicine while studying Chinese language in Taiwan in the early 2000s. After gaining proficiency in modern and ancient Chinese he studied Chinese medicine in the UK. He published his Masters research in the Journal of Chinese Medicine on the topic of Shan illness in 2015. He has also taught acupuncture, yangsheng and dietary therapy at City College of Acupuncture and the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine. A lifelong passionate advocate of Chinese medicine self-help, he set up the London Chinese Medicine Meetup Group in 2011 to teach yang sheng to the public.
