Dr. Joanna Dietzel is a specialist in neurology with an additional qualification in acupuncture. She began her training in traditional Chinese medicine in Beijing and completed it in Berlin through the German Medical Association for Acupuncture (DÄGfA), earning certification as a "Physician for Acupuncture" after passing the medical chamber examination. She then pursued further training to gain an additional qualification in naturopathic treatments.
After working as a clinical trial physician in pharmaceutical research, Dr. Dietzel joined the Charité in 2014, first at the Center for Stroke Research in the Department of Neurology. In 2018, she transitioned to the Department of Complementary and Integrative Medicine within the Institute of Social Medicine, Epidemiology, and Health Economics. Here, she primarily coordinates clinical studies investigating the efficacy of acupuncture in neurological conditions.
Dr. Dietzel also teaches complementary medicine and social medicine at the Charité and serves as a lecturer in medical, nursing, and student training programs. Additionally, she offers regular consultations at the University Outpatient Clinic for Naturopathy and Prevention.
